LA ROUGAROU is chef N’Gina Guyton’s upcoming restaurant project!

WHAT HAPPENED TO “MISS N’GINA”?

MISS N’GINA isn’t going anywhere! MISS N’GINA is the corporation under which businesses and projects of chef N’Gina Guyton will exist. The restaurant that was to be MISS N’GINA is now LA ROUGAROU, a name that better suits the vibe, concept and transformation from what SOUTH was to what we’ve grown to become!

WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG?

The path to get here, to be able to share a meal with you again with the southern recipes you remember, was a long one! It was a journey that was, at times, rough and unfortunately even involved lengthy legal proceedings to be able to keep said recipes. One day, maybe, we’ll tell you the full story, but until then know that our absence/silence wasn’t meant to deceive. The goal was always to open this restaurant and now, thanks to The Grace Project, we’re able to do just that.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DONATIONS FROM THE MISS N’GINA INDIEGOGO?

If you donated to the MISS N’GINA Indiegogo campaign, and did not request & receive a refund, your donations (and the associated perks) will be transferred over to LA ROUGAROU.

ARE YOU STILL DOING KEY TAGS?

If you were a key tag holder at SOUTH, that key tag will transfer over to LA ROUGAROU. HOWEVER, that transfer will be up for review. Key tags were given as a token of good will and if you abused that good will during your time at SOUTH your key tag will not renew/be valid at LA ROUGAROU. New “key tag” perks for LA ROUGAROU will be announced at a later date.

WHAT ABOUT THE MENU? IS THAT STAYING THE SAME?

LA ROUGAROU’s menu will be reflective of the beginning years of SOUTH. While there may be old favorites, this is an elevated dining experience therefore there will be no chicken buckets, etc. (there will still be fried chicken, so don’t worry). The menu will explore historically traditional southern dishes that Sacramento has not had a chance to try yet!

YOU MENTIONED THE GRACE PROJECT. WHAT IS THAT?

The Grace project is an apartment complex currently being built at G & 15th in Downtown Sacramento. LA ROUGAROU will be located on the ground floor retail space of the complex.
